I dove back into my daily diary from a few days back in 1981 when I was the first black bear biologist for the New Hampshire Department. Only two of us game biologist had the training to tranquilize bears then. Plus I had a couple of bears with radio collars on that I was tracking that summer. Some days I flew with the State Police to find the bears. Those were amazing days to be a Fish and Game game biologist.
