Black bears are on the move in New Hampshire right now. (VIDEO)

Monday 05/25/2020

Late May into June is black bear breeding time in New Hampshire. I had a bear come through the other day and knock down a section of my fence as he passed through. Yes bears are on the move right now. When I was the bear biologist for the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department I was often called upon to address bears that had wandered i of our cities in June. Occasionally I had to move tone out of their day time hiding spot in a tree in someone's back yard. Usually we could just leave them until darkness drew them away. So be prepared to see bears on the move and sometimes in places you wouldn't expect to see one.
