It's Mid Winter in New Hampshire, but Spring Like Today. (VIDEO)

Thursday 01/30/2020

Sure it looks like spring outside today in New Hampshire. This January has been running 8 degrees above average. Here in Central New Hampshire the fields are bare of snow and the Merrimack, Suncook and Soucook Rivers are free of ice. This certainly is not what I have witnessed most of my life here. But you can't fool Mother Nature. Despite all the bare ground and open water nary a duck or goose is back from their wintering spots. It is the angle of the sun and the length of day that regulates the life of our wildlife. They know better than be fooled by a false spring. Yes we have at least two more months of winter ahead and we should not be fooled eaither.
