In order to have a duck hunting season in New Hampshire requires lots of work each year by Fish and Game wildlife biologists to band a few hundred ducks. Yes duck hunting falls under Federal rules by the Fish and Wildlife Service and part of the requirements is to band some ducks in each state each year. It is the banding returns that helps estimate duck populations and how they are impacted by hunting. Season lengths and duck bag limits are guided by duck band information gathering. It is the wildlife biologists each year that make this happen.
