Bear Season Update #6

As of November 14th, 376 bears (230 males, 146 females) have been reported to the bear project.  Bait hunters harvested 192 bears (132 males, 60 females), still hunters/stalkers have taken 121 bears (68 males, 53 females) and hound hunters have regiThe harvest tally for New Hampshire's 2011 bear season stands at 418 bears.  The 2011 harvest concluded 41% less than the 2010 level (707 bears) and 27% below the preceding 5-year average (574 bears).  The harvest consisted of 246 males and 172 females yielding a harvest sex ratio of 1.4 males per female.  A breakdown by region and method follows.
